NXP Water to Water Simultaneous Unit
The American Geophysical Union (AGU) is an organization that is working toward a sustainable future and advancing science. The AGU has undertaken a $41.7 million renovation of its 62,000 square foot headquarters building located in the Dupont Circle neighborhood. Their goal is to be the first renovated commercial building to achieve net zero goals in DC. Aermec 6 pipe NXP units were chosen because the energy calculation simulations demonstrated that Aermec units were the most suitable unit for this application. Cooling only in the summer, simultaneous cooling plus heating in the winter, and shoulder seasons. This unit is connected to municipal heat exchanger on the source side. There is a heat exchanger placed in parallel to this unit between municipal heat exchanger and chilled water side. This allows free cooling whenever feasible to generate even further energy savings.
