Cannabis Production Plant
St. Jean Sur Richelieu, QC
State of the Art Application with 120 Tons
Aermec was installed at a growing medical cannabis producer located in Quebec. In order to get ahead in the highly competitive
Canadian cannabis industry, the owners of this plant are continuously committed to offering top quality products by seeking out state of the art technologies for their facility. Aermec, being the top HVAC manufacturer in Europe, continues to bring advanced technologies in to the North American market. Aermec chillers were chosen as the HVAC solution for the cannabis production plant due to the innovative and efficient properties of Aermec equipment.
Cannabis production requires year round cooling and precise control over temperature and humidity. Three NRB2000ZFDA°J800 free cooling chillers were chosen for this project. Free cooling chillers offer immense cost savings with the use of a waterside economizer. This application is ideal for Aermec chillers with integrated free cooling coils as a significant part of the year the ambient temperature of the job site would be low enough to yield free cooling.
The unit is equipped with a special electronic thermostatic valve which allows the unit to provide very low temperature water (34°F)
and meets the design on the plant. The free cooling chiller also has a desuperheater which helps in dehumidification. Although the
plant has a boiler for reheating, the desuperheater integrated with the chillers, can offer a cost-saving alternative during a part of the
year. Each of the 3 units can provide 120 tons of cooling with 4 compressors working in two independent refrigeration circuit. This offers great redundancy and ensures continuous operation even when the units needs to be serviced.
