NYB Modular Chillers

Burnham Center is a historic skyscraper in heart of Chicago and is also the corporate headquarters of GrubHub Inc. The GrubHub server room required 90 tons of cooling. The only area available for chillers was an enclosed patio surrounded by four skyscrapers. The location ruled out using one large chiller as there was no way to get it into the patio space. The benefit of using Aermec NYB units for this installation was that service elevators were able to deliver the NYB to a floor level with the interior space they were to be installed in. The windows looking out to the enclosed area were removed, the NYB units were able to fit through the windows, and the units were placed in position.

The NYBs also provide a system that has six redundant circuits in three mechanical modules allowing extra flexibility with variable flow, thus maximizing energy savings at part load.
