NRL Heat Pumps
With more than 30 success stories in schools in Montreal and its suburbs, Aermec has built a strong reputation for being able to provide space heating along with domestic hot water in the harshest of Quebec climates.
Aermec’s intelligent defrost is unique in North America for air to water heat pumps and provide much better building temperature control and efficiency that the competitors. The schools operate the heat pumps in extreme conditions with very cold temperature in all cases and in some cases high humidity as well.
Aermec heat pumps monitor outdoor ambient and suction pressure on the condenser coil and defrost only comes on when unit senses ice formation (pressure drop) on the outside of the coil. With two refrigerant circuits, only one circuit needs to go into defrost at a time. When in defrost, the NRL is monitoring the change in pressure to see when defrost has done its job. The fact that Aermec units use time, temperature, and refrigerant pressure monitoring allow for a much more efficient defrost cycle than our competitors that typically use only time and temperature.
